The conference was hosted by the Central South University Alumni Association and co-organized by the CSU Alumni IURC and the Changsha New Energy Innovation Institute (“NEII”). Aligned with China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative and Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030,” the event focused on deep integration of industry-academia-research and the international development of alumni enterprises. CSU leaders, alumni association officials, NEII representatives, and numerous alumni enterprise delegates gathered to explore opportunities in the Saudi market, establish an international collaboration platform covering policy interpretation, industrial matchmaking, and capital connection, and promote alumni enterprises’ integration into the Saudi industrial chain. The conference aimed to leverage the “alumni economy” to consolidate overseas expansion efforts and jointly write a new chapter of Silk Road cooperation in the new era.
Mr. Guo Xueyi, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Central South University, remarked in his speech: “Central South University places great emphasis on internationalization. The integration of industry, academia, and research serves not only the local economy but also the global industrial landscape. On the 35th anniversary of China-Saudi diplomatic relations, our strategic cooperation with Skytower provides solid support for alumni enterprises to ‘go global’ and creates broader avenues for the international transformation of the university’s research achievements. We are confident in the prospects of the Saudi market.”

Mr. Wei Huacheng, Vice President of the Central South University Alumni Association and Executive Director & Secretary-General of the CSU Alumni IURC, emphasized that the Center will continue to act as a bridge for resource integration, information sharing, and risk co-management, while actively advocating for alumni enterprises to “go global together.” He noted that alumni enterprises in mining, new energy, advanced manufacturing, and materials science align closely with the Saudi market. During the keynote speech, Mr. Eric Fang provided a comprehensive overview of Skytower’s resource network, collaboration model, and strategic layout in Saudi Arabia. He stated: “Skytower consistently adheres to the development philosophy of ‘technology empowerment + localized cooperation.’ We are committed not only to efficiently connecting China’s advanced technologies and high-quality industrial resources with the Saudi market, but also to working closely with Central South University and alumni enterprises to align research outcomes, industrial capabilities, and market demand. At the same time, we will collaborate with local Saudi partners to build a future-oriented, sustainable, and competitive international industrial ecosystem. Our strategic direction aligns closely with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, creating broad opportunities for China-Saudi industrial upgrading and cooperation.”

From preparatory planning and strategic design, to market entry pathways and a comparative analysis of three typical overseas expansion models, she provided an in-depth examination. She also shared practical challenges such as policy barriers, cultural differences, and resource alignment, offering actionable insights and lessons learned. Madam Min emphasized that Skytower will continue to leverage its global operational expertise and localized experience to provide systematic guidance and practical support for alumni enterprises, helping them reduce trial-and-error costs, accelerate project implementation, and enhance overall efficiency and success in internationalization.

As a key outcome of the conference, Skytower and the CSU Alumni IURC formally signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement in the presence of university leaders, alumni association officials, and NEII representatives. Under the agreement, both parties will leverage their respective advantages to conduct in-depth cooperation in core sectors including mining, new energy and materials, smart manufacturing and digitalization, biomedicine and healthcare, advanced transportation and intelligent construction, and resources and environment. Collaboration will focus on promoting the international transformation of research achievements, supporting high-quality projects entering the Saudi and North American markets, establishing sustainable overseas manufacturing and service bases, and building a one-stop internationalization service platform covering policy interpretation, industry matchmaking, investment and financing support, and brand promotion to comprehensively enhance the international development efficiency and success of alumni enterprises.

Additionally, the parties plan to jointly establish “Innovation Centers” and “Technology Incubation Platforms” in the U.S. and Saudi Arabia to bridge research commercialization and technology upgrading. Through initiatives such as the “China Brand Overseas Tour” and the “Central South University Alumni International Innovation and Investment Forum,” alumni enterprises will showcase their achievements, systematically connect with overseas industrial, capital, and market resources, and accelerate the implementation of their internationalization strategies.
In the closing remarks, Mr. Fu Ganghua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Central South University, highlighted that the university will fully leverage its integrated strengths in teaching, research, and talent cultivation to provide strategic support and comprehensive services for alumni enterprises’ global development, ensuring steady progress in international markets.
